A few months ago it was announced that Colourpop Cosmetics was now being shipped Internationally! I thought this was the perfect time to do a post on the products that I have purchased from this brand now that it's available to everyone.
For anyone who doesn't know Colourpop Cosmetics is a makeup company that is based in California. Their products range from liquid lipsticks (matte / satin finish) and lippie stix to eye shadows and highlighters and even brow products and liners. All of these products are at affordable prices, liquid lipsticks are all $6! The company is also known for having lines in collaboration with some top beauty gurus on YouTube ( Kathleenlights and Jenn Im/Clothesencounters most recently). The company often sends out emails with different coupons and deals for their customers. One of the best things about them is that they are cruelty-free.
If you can't tell I'm a fan of this company even though I did hesitate about giving into the hype for a long time. I mean it all just seemed too good to be true! I personally have not had a bad experience with any of my purchases through Colourpop even though my first purchase was quite a scare for me. The people working customer service got back to me right away and handled my situation right away easing my stress.
I think I've gushed enough, let's get to the products I own. So far I have only tried the liquid lipsticks and the eyeshadows. For this post I'll talk about the liquid lipsticks and have a part two for the eyeshadows so stay tuned!
If you were hoping to find out about the highlighters, brow products or lippie stix, unfortunately, I can't help you there but hopefully in the future I can update on those too!
LIQUID LIPSTICKS | $6 USD
SHADES: StingRaye | Bad Habit | More Better | Creeper | Avenue | Rooch | LAX
PACKAGING: When you're paying only $6 I guess you shouldn't expect amazing packaging but considering the actual product is such great quality it's disappointing when it isn't the best. You might have noticed in some of the pictures that the silver band around the bottle is scratched away on some of the lipsticks. No that isn't just a glare from the light the band is really wearing away. I find this really annoying. When you first receive your lipsticks you have the Colourpop logo on the bottle but after a few uses, it's gone from your hands holding the tube or throwing it in your makeup bag, etc. If I didn't know I got these from Colourpop I would have no way of knowing what brand these lipsticks are from. I wish they would find a better solution to this or just not bother at all if the paint they use will just be gone after a few uses.
WHAT I LOVE: These are such great affordable liquid lipsticks that come in a wide range of colors that you can find what you're looking for guaranteed. If you can't tell, I don't venture into shades that are lighter or too bright. I hope to try other colors in the future but these caught my eye the most. The lipsticks dry down in a good amount of time and I've never had a problem reapplying or layering. The lipsticks are very pigmented and leave a light stain on the lips so you don't have to constantly check a mirror on when to reapply.
WHAT I HATE: Like I mentioned, the packaging isn't the best but it does get the job done. Some of the lipsticks are runny (Creeper especially) but it's nothing I couldn't manage. A lot of product does run down and glob up in the cap of the applicator as shown in the pictures above comparing More Better and Avenue. (Which look exactly alike)
Now I'm going to go through each shade I own. I didn't apply a liner to my lips or use a primer of any kind. There's only one layer on my lips so you can see which ones need one more layer.
(STINGRAYE / BAD HABIT / MORE BETTER)
STINGRAYE: This is by far my most used of the lipsticks I have bought. Unfortunately, it's no longer sold since it was a special collab with YouTuber ItsMyRayeRaye. I'm seriously so sad about this...what will I do when I finish the bottle? Cry most likely. I just love how this color looks good with any makeup look.
BAD HABIT: I was hesitant buying this color because it's very bright and pink. I didn't think I would like a bright color on me but I love it now. I wore this a lot this summer since it made me just feel brighter without being too bright.
MORE BETTER: This is similar to Bad Habit but it's deeper than the other color. Kind of like a sister lipstick to the other one. If Bad Habit is for day, More Better is definitely for night.
(CREEPER / AVENUE)
CREEPER: This color is rather runny so it takes longer to dry down. You have to be aware of that when applying. The first application is rather patchy but with a liner and another layer you'll be good to go on this one. I think this color will be great during fall for me and I can't wait to wear it more.AVENUE: I bought this lip color just because I wanted to get free shipping, I didn't think I would like the color as much as I did in the end. It's patchy but nothing that I can't work with so I definitely wear a liner with this one normally. The color is just so...interesting, it reminds me of wine.
(ROOCH / LAX)
ROOCH: On my hand, these two look so similar but I can totally see a difference on the lips. This color reminds me of a red brick and I love it.
LAX: This is a great brown on me. I know the site says that it's a red but, it looks brown with red undertones on me.
I hope this posts helps you if you decide to try some of the lipsticks from ColourPop!
If you've purchased from them before, what colors do you own?
