I don't really like resolutions since....a lot of them end up forgotten after a month. Still I figured I would try and set some goals for myself this year. Then I can look back when December comes around again and laugh cause I didn't do most of them....Okay I'm already going against one goal...
Still the year is coming to an end and I am taking the time to look back at some of my favorite things! Some things here have been mentioned on my favorites posts and others may be new things that I've gotten for Christmas. This post also may be a little long but I hope anyone who makes it through really enjoys it!!
I have been to Chicago quite a few times in my life but always been day trips. I didn't get the chance to actually look at what the city had to offer.
For spring break my junior year, I went to Chicago with two friends.

While in Chicago we definitely took advantage of the shopping but we went to see the bean (I actually ran into a friend from my floor in the dorms my freshman year which was crazy) and got some pictures of the city at night which was seriously gorgeous.
Sigh, I wasn't on my picture taking game on this trip so I don't have a lot to show from the visit, just the memories. Last spring break was fun but honestly I can't wait for this year!

I actually wasn't sure if I was going to post my outfits this week. It's the last week of classes before finals and I was sure I would just dress casual, but nope here I am.
This month I don't have a lot of favorites. I feel like the month just flew by before I could even start using something new or notice I've been using something a lot. The few things that I have been in love with this month are of course listed below so lets get to it!
Thanksgiving break was so nice but way too short for me. I feel I wasn't home long at all, I didn't get much done, or enjoy enough TV. I know my parents were excited to see me too, my dad actually smiled when I pulled into the driveway. I missed seeing my mom in her natural setting instead of when she visits me when there are football games. She's rather silly but I enjoy her company most out of anyone so I didn't mind. Seeing her made me want to stay, made me wish I went to school in the city instead of deciding I wanted to get away from her, what was I thinking?
It's good I only have one semester left.
We didn't do much for Thanksgiving which I was fine with. We didn't go see any extended family just stayed in - just the 3 of us. The food was so good though! We had turkey, chicken, this potato thing my mom made ( I've never had it before but it tasted so good with the turkey ), mac & cheese, baked beans, biscuits, lots of pie - honestly I think my mom went crazy with the pie options. Still the food was so good I'm pretty sure I managed 6 rounds throughout my stay at home.
Food at home is so much better than school food.
My mom is so cute she went out and got me Denny's french toast for breakfast one day and it was such a surprise but she knows the way to my heart.
For shopping we went out Thursday night. We went to Walmart first which - that was a mistake that place was chaos and so frustrating. I had no idea where the lines started and couldn't find half the things I was looking for since the workers didn't know either. Then they had all of the DVDs over by the milk and you had to wait in this ridiculously long line. We were so annoyed.
So we went to Target. Target is always a good time and I should've gone there in the first place but I was trying to get some deals. Everything in Target was calm but by the time we made it to the line (which took 45mins to get through) I was so thirsty! But the bae Target had coolers placed in the line filled with drinks for us to take. Always lookin' out.
It was nice being back home after being away fro 3 months. I felt like crying Saturday night when I realized it was almost time to go, if I wasn't such a bitch I probably would've. But I'm back at school and that means all of those papers, group projects, and last minute assignments need to be done. Then it'll be finals week and then I can go back home, where I belong, in the city.
While we were on the bus I didn't even know this was a stop on the drive! It came as such a surprise to me that we were stopping and it wasn't even a long stop so we looked quick and had to get back on the road.
On the way to the Route 66 stop we watched a video about Angel Delgadillo and how he worked to revive the route. The things I learned during this trip honestly...I would have never known about this place or Angel's story. I was able to snap some pictures while there, like in the barbershop
And of course there's a shout out to Cars.
Good times but it's time to get back on the road for the grand finale.
I for one can't wait to get home and see my mom. School is stressful, living situations are stressful. I am in need of a break even though it'll be a short one.
For the first time in my college life I was invited to a sorority formal and I was so excited to go. No, I'm not in a sorority - though some people have assumed that I was in one before - but I was invited by a friend who had an extra ticket and I figured, why not?
Of course I stressed over what to wear to this thing since it's homecoming attire...and I didn't pack any of my past homecoming dresses when I came to school this year. Thankfully I did pack my coral dress that I wore in Vegas cause, it worked out perfectly for the occasion.
I don't get many opportunities to dress up all pretty anymore so I enjoyed the getting ready process a little too much considering it wasn't my formal. My hair has a french braid on either side of my head and all the hair pulled back into a side ponytail. I wore my favorite studded gold headband and left my bangs out since my forehead just wasn't meant to be all out this night. The jewelry was simple, I just wore my hexagon hoop earrings and some cute stacking rings that I've had forever.
The shoes are one of the few pairs of heels that I own and their from the J.Lo collection at Kohl's I think I got these two years ago. Since I knew that I wasn't going to keep these on all night I also brought along these tan sandals that I got in Vegas to keep with the same theme.
The bag is from Jessica Simpson's line and I can't remember where or when I bought this but I wear it whenever I can. It's small yet looks good as a crossbody on me and goes with a lot of my outfits giving it a pop which I like. Since I don't live in Arizona I had to have a jacket of some sorts so I went with my vintage denim jacket that I've had since 4th grade. (That constitutes as vintage right?)
So this probably wasn't the best outfit for today since it was so windy my phone literally flew out of my hand. The focal point is the shoes but this jacket also needs a shout out cause it's like a toaster in jacket form. It may not look like much but don't be fooled.

My friend told me to post more food so here I am trying...
Just look at that salad with those apple slices.
The slices and sauce were the most exciting part about that salad.
(haha how does one write about food...?)
I for one love today's outfit just because of the cute crochet cardigan I am wearing. I think this is a favorite item in my closet but it's not exactly warm so I don't get to wear it often. I got this at ROSS while I was in Vegas and let me tell you it was a hunt to find this. I think it was the only one I found in the section that I was in. I love ROSS just cause the prices were steals but I could not deal with trying to look through the racks. There were so many clothes and so many people, I felt like I was in a race to get through the rack and onto the next section of clothes.
Back to the cardigan, I love this thing and will probably try to find reasons to wear it at least once a month. Today I had to bring a solid grey cardigan along since, it's cold in a lot of my classrooms, and it's good to be prepared. I was feeling a scarf today and the scarf that I'm wearing with it I've had since high school, I think I got it at H&M. My earrings I've never worn before...I don't know if I'll wear them again since they hurt trying to put them on. ;___;

It was raining today, so I wasn't feeling like doing anything. I seem to be in the mood for some gray this week, hehe. I've had these rain boots since freshman year and I hardly wear them. Rain boots make my feet so hot and then sometimes it doesn't rain as much as expected so your feet are just sweating for no reason haha. Good thing I wore them today since it was literally pouring down.
I think I'm turning into a PINK person...

This is the long day, we were on a bus for well over 7 hours and I honestly was so thankful to get back to the hotel after it all...but that's later there's a lot of pictures to show. This was such a nice day to have this type of tour, the sun was just so bright and the sky so clear, it made for amazing pictures. This is the Hoover Dam! I don't remember all the facts we heard from our tour guide but I do know that that light area on the mountains? Yea, that is where the water level used to be. So the dam has lost a lot of water over the years. I found that fascinating and seeing it in person is just...wow all of that water is gone.
This is the Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge.
Now more pictures, we didn't stay at this stop very long so most of the pictures are from the bus which ... yea that's lame but it has to do. The Dam was honestly so cool to look at and see all the parts that went into putting it together and the stories around the Dam.
And me. :D
Just need to make it through this week and I can go home (for the first time all semester) and eat and shop and just be happy. I personally can't wait, I need a new scene and a break from the stress of school, and some of the people. Just need to get through this week then three days next week, lets go!
I think I've said this before but I tend to go with simple makeup if I wear any during the week. Just foundation, a line of eyeliner on the top lid, mascara, bronzer fill the brows and you're good.
