Kylie Lip Kit | REVIEW

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

I have been working towards doing this review since I ordered my Kylie Lip Kit by Kylie Cosmetics but I was too busy to get it done. Now that I have more time I finally pulled all of my images together and can now give you my opinion on the kit that I managed to get, Kourt K

3:17 pm - I put the color on before heading to class and that was around 1:30 pm but because my class started at 2pm I wasn't able to get a picture. When I applied the lipstick it wasn't drying and was comfortable to wear. By the end of class, the color looked just as good as it did when I first applied it. The only thing that could have caused a lot of transfer was the water bottle I was drinking from, but it held up.

4:12 pm - I had lunch and as you can see there is a difference. There was a lot of transfer while I was eating (I had a sandwich) and the color was actually all over my hands believe it or not. Though when I looked in the mirror the color didn't look as patchy as I thought in person.

6:41 pm - I didn't try and touch up the color after eating just because I wanted to see how long I could go before I needed to touch up. Well, ice cream did the trick the color was so patchy when I got home I had to reapply.

6:43 pm - I have reapplied and this time my lips feel a lot drier than they did when I first applied the lipstick. After 10 minutes I could already see a bit of the lipstick crumbling by my inner lip.

9:44 pm - It may look pretty good in pictures but the lipstick is crumbling off my lips slowly but surely.

Overall: The Kylie Lip Kit isn't cheap. It retails for $29 and they are hard to get your hands on since launches happen randomly and always sell out. There also aren't any incentives, like getting free shipping after you spend so much, so the total adds up. If you look past that the actual product isn't any different from something you could get from Colour Pop for a lot cheaper.

I like Kourt K and would consider buying from Kylie Cosmetics again. Though I won't be sitting around with my credit card waiting to hear about the next launch either. I'm glad I got a kit but I wasn't wowed by anything besides the cute packaging. At this point, the only other colors I would try to get are Mary Jo K and True Brown, the lip liner is rather good so if she sold those alone, I would probably get all the colors.

***Another thing I would like to add is that those famous lips (pictured above) that are usually on a notecard in the packages with a note from Kylie on the back thanking you for the purchase, they aren't in every box. I found this disappointing since that is part of the expectation for the product but I guess only lucky purchasers get them.

Have you been able to get a Kylie Lip Kit?
Would you get one if you could? If so, what color?

    1. Getting the product is fairly hard but the Kylie Cosmetics official Twitter does update when launches will be, so I would stalk there so you can be ready to try and get the lipsticks!

    1. The brand won't be for everyone and each batch seems to have new things. ColourPop has been around for longer and they have a lot of different lip options along with shadows and more so I would check them out for sure!

  4. I had a similar experience when I tried True Brown K. It was good & I would consider purchasing other colors, but it was not life-changing. :]
