FORMATION WORLD TOUR

If you didn't know I am a HUGE fan of Beyoncé so when this tour was announced I knew I had to go. Well one thing lead to another and I was convinced that I wasn't going to get a ticket and tried to forget about the concert best I could. Fast forward to Friday, May 27th and my mom got us tickets as a graduation gift and I literally freaked out!!!! I took a few pictures throughout the day as we journeyed to Chicago for the concert!!!!

To get to Chicago we took the Greyhound buses and I have to say I might travel by bus more often, the trip was fast and not full of the stresses that come from driving on your own through the city.

The makeup that I'm wearing is pretty standard to what I normally wear but today I was trying out some of the eyeshadows that I got from ColourPop along with this lip color. I'll list everything at the end of this post.

This weekend was also my first time using Uber. I had such an amazing trip. We used two drivers during our time and they were both so friendly and just made the experience easier.

For our weekend we stayed in Chinatown, Chicago at the Chinatown Hotel. It was small and had a tricky key for the hotel room but seemed like a rather popular location for visitors to stay. The room was small and very 70's in the decorations but it was enough for our one night stay.

We went to eat at Triple Crown Chinese Restaurant near the hotel and the food was so delicious! I ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken and my mom got the Fried Rice, we didn't get too adventurous since we had a concert to make it to after al. The servings were rather large for just the two of us so we had to save some for later. The service was great and I would definitely go there again if I could.

We explored some of the shops on this street more finding a few good finds but had to get back to the hotel and change so we could head to Millennium Park and then enjoy our walk to Solider Field.

The walk from the park to the field was definitely worth it since we were able to walk off some of the food we ate and see some of the beautiful sights in Chicago. We were happy to see we weren't the only people making the long walk since a lot of concert goers were coming from the same direction.

We got to the venue around 6:45 just in time for the opening acts for the concert. One of which was popular duo Rae Sremmurd. The wait was long though because the rain started and people started getting anxious on when the show would start. We didn't wait too long since the show started right at 9:30 and all of our anger about the wait and the rain were forgotten.
Rain or shine the show goes on right?

I really could go on and on about this concert and all the great things that happened and how hyped everyone was but I don't think any words I use would do it justice. This is one of those things that you just have to experience for yourself to understand.

Highlight moments (though the whole show was a highlight):
Definitely the start of the show where we all got to our feet with Formation.
The moment when Love on Top was on and the whole stadium sang the song beginning to end without knowing that the sound system actually went down for a while.
The Vanity and Prince tributes (pictured above).
The dancing in the water.
Just Beyoncé.

I know I'm a fangirl and I'm completely biased in just loving everything about this. But I will use my mom as an example, she didn't understand the hype of Beyoncé though she did enjoy the music and such. This was her first Beyoncé concert and all she could say afterward while she was still in awe of it all was,

"Beyoncé didn't just slay, she slaughtered."

I couldn't agree more.

Well I danced my ass off and came out looking fairly similar to how I did going in which was an accomplishment on my makeups part for sure. I had an amazing time at the concert and stay amazed that she managed to top herself again. I totally wished I had a ticket for the Saturday concert also but that would be a bit overzealous of me wouldn't it?

What was your favorite concert experience?
