DON'T HURT YOURSELF

Another month, another Music Monday. I haven't been checking out a lot of new songs since I've been obsessed with the albums that I'm going to mention here.

LEMONADE  :  BEYONCÉ
This album is pretty much all that I've been able to listen to since it dropped and I honestly love the whole thing from beginning to end. I didn't think that Beyoncé could out do herself but she definitely has in my eyes. This album is beautiful and tells a whole story that moves you. Honestly, the best way to listen to the songs is the watch the movie that comes with the album because it really makes the songs have more meaning than when you're just listening to them. After watching the movie I found myself loving the songs so much more. I think my favorite would have to be Hold Up. I don't know when I fell for this song but I definitely play it 5x a day and haven't gotten sick of it. After that I love Sorry, Pray You Catch Me, Freedom, and Don't Hurt Yourself. It's just an amazing album, made an amazing set list at her concert and I just don't know how I can go back after getting this blessing in my life.

DANGEROUS WOMAN  :  ARIANA GRANDE
Really I wasn't even checking for this album and it kind of just fell into my lap and after the first listen I was in love. I don't know why I doubted her cause I've liked Ariana's past albums but I guess I wasn't in the mood for anything else to love after Lemonade. This album...is a bit all over the place, there isn't one genre here which can make the direction a bit confusing since they don't seem like songs that would be put together normally. My favorite's are Somtimes, Dangerous Woman, Let Me Love You and Everyday. I didn't think I would like Sometimes as much as I do but something about it, once it hit me I couldn't look back. This album is more mature than the past releases that she's done also. She has an amazing voice so it's a great listen and she collaborates with some great artist, Nicki Minaj, lil Wayne, Macy Gray and Future.

VIEWS  :  DRAKE
I love Drake I really do but this album definitely didn't meet the hype for me. There were more songs that I didn't enjoy - and ended up deleting - than there were songs that I played on repeat. Like the Arian album there were a lot of different vibes and genres in this album that I couldn't exactly get with in all cases. Some of the songs were just boring to me. Controlla, Hype, Grammy, Still Here, One Dance and Child's Play are my favorites. The other songs I might listen if it comes on shuffle but otherwise I don't look for them. I still love Drake even though I wasn't as in love with this album as I wanted to be but I'm sure he has more work coming out soon so I'll anticipate it.
